Abstract

This paper reviews what some researchers see in two sounds (Al-Yaa and Al-Wau) and considered them as a short terminal which means that they are formed due to these terminals.
This subject has been studied according to the opinions of the old and modern Arab Scholars, and it has explained what the Arabic Syllable means and what Praat program sees it.
The paper has reached the following:
1. The Arabic Syllable System doesn't conform with doubled form in Arabic.
2. Praat program shows that there is a difference between (Al-Yaa and Al-Wau) frozen sounds and the (Al-Yaa and Al-Wau) discontented sounds regarding the intensity of the sound and values of the positive content concentrations. This refers that there is a break between the two sounds (Al-Yaa and Al-Wau) whether they are frozen or discontent, despite the closeness between them.
