Al'amir Shakib Arslan: His writings and methodology in the Writing of Andalusian History

Abstract

The name 'Shakeeb Arsalan' has been repeated a lot during my research in the history of Andalus and Morocco. I was asking myself: what is the connection between this eastern author and thinker and the movements of liberalizations in the Arab east and west with the study of the history of Morocco and Andalus? The name of the prince Shakeeb Arsalan is associated with works that show the history of Muslims' star in North Africa, Spain, south French and Europe. It can be said that among the first thinkers and historians of the east who wrote about the history of Muslims and Andalaus in the Pleistocene and is really considered the founder of the historian school in the east. It determined recently on following up Prince Arsalan's activity in the field of writing Islamic history for Morocco and Andalaus and showing its writings and approach. He is condidered one of the important literary figures whose interests were varied. He was able of entering many fields achieving a great deal of culture and sciences. He was known as a: author, poet, journalist, historian, agitator, Politian, translator and examiner who is worth studying.
