Al-Hafid Al-Dhabi Scrutiny of Al-Imam Abi-Hatem in his Mizan Al-E'tidal | Acritical Study

Abstract

 God has decreed that the infallibility is for his apostles and prophets. Thus, any saying is subject to investigation and scrutiny except those of the prophet. Religious men often scrutinized each other in many matters such as fiqh, interpretation, hadith, etc. Of these religious men is Al-Imam Al-Dahabi who, in his (Mizan Al-E'tidal), investigated and scrutinized the works of Aba Hatim Al-Razi in many matters. Al-Ta'aqub is the process of scrutinizing the sayings or statements of the others in order to show error and inauthenticity.
The findings of this research are as follows:
1- Islamic religion urges Muslims no to imitate and follow the religious saying irrationally except the saying of the prophet. It encourages Muslims to scrutinize the saying logically.2- The mutual respect religious men to each other is shown through the investigation of Al-Dahabi for Al-Razi where he logically examined the works without underestimating the efforts of Al-Razi.
3- The mutual respect didn't hinder the logical discussion of the given thought and issues.4- Al-Dahabi has investigated sixteen issues which were discussed by Al-Razi.
5- All the investigations which Al-Dahabi has conducted were accurate except one where he unintentionally failed to identify the narrator.
6- Most of these investigations tackled the issue of ignorance where Al-Razi is unaware of the narrators in ten locations as in his interpretations of (4,5,6,7,8,10, 11,13,15,16).
