Social effects of war on society (A field study in the city of Fallujah)
Abstract
The American occupation of Iraq and the subsequent violence, terrorism, and military operations destroyed the Iraqi society and brought about an institutional paralysis to all its life sources.
The negative effects of war on Iraqi society cast its dark shadows on all social classes through the emergence of hitherto familiar social problems.
The collapse of institutional systems, the disorder in the value system, and the spread of administrative corruption, behavioral delinquency, and the rise of violence level are all quite evident phenomena.
This study is an attempt to assess some of these negative effects of the war and occupation of Iraqi society, hoping that this study shall induce further in-depth studies of the negative changes that swept Iraqi society after 2003.
